HIDE AND SKIN REPORT.

Dalgety and Co,, Ltd., Wellington, report: —We held our usual fortnightly sale on Friday, when, in addition to a- good catalogue .of skins, hides, and tallow, we offered' a large quantity of orutcliings which had been specially held for this sale. On account of the quantity of crutchings offering, a number of Home buyers were present, as well as a, full attendance of the local trade, and competition was keen, especially for light bright crutchings. which brought up to B£d, any' specially light and clean lines being a shade higher. Other lines were keenly competed for, prices for skins being firm at last sale's rates, whilst hides were slightly easier. Quotations: —•

Wool: Crutchings, good _8d to Bfd, medium 6|d to 7|d, inferior s|d to 6d; crossbred BJd to lOid; lambs 9d to 9£d; pieces 5Jd to 6£d; locks 5d to.Sfd.

Skins: Crossbred, good BJd to B|d, medium 7sd to 8d; i-wools 7Jd to 8d; i-wools 74d to 7fd; lambs 7d to B£d; pelts 5d to 6£d. Hides: Ox, heavy, B|d to Sfd; ox, medium, 7fd to Bjd;"cow, good, 7fd to 7|d; cow, cut and slip, 6fd to 7£d; ox, cut and slip, 7fd to 7|d; calf, sound, ll|d to 12d: calf, cut and slip, 9dtolO|d.

Tallow: In sacks, 22s 6d per cwt. ; in tins, 22s to 25s 6d per cwt.
