At a meeting of the local Beekeepers' Association last night, Mr• J. A Moreland (president) was delegated to represent the Association at the forthcoming Dominion conference. Mr Arthur W. Jackson, formerly of The Express staff, who has been employed in the Defence Department m Wellington for some time, has been promoted to the Customs Department at Wellington- _, _ Mr H. B. W. White, son of Mr J. J White, Blenheim, had been a.ppointed curate in the MaTlboFough archdeaconry of the Anglican Churchy the position having: been rendered vacant recently by the promotion or the Rev. R. de Lambert to Westport. Mr White, who takes up his duties on July Ist, .will bo ordained by Bishop Sadlier in the Nelson Cathedral on the 29th inst.

After consideration of 27 applications for the position of headmaster of the Blenheim Borough School, the School Committee last night decided to recommend the appointment of Mr B. H. Low. of Newtown, Wellington, to the Marlborougjh. Education Board. Mr Low, who is a Bachelor of Arts and a -Bachelor of Science, is at present acting as first assistant at the Newtown primary school, and assists Professor Kirk in his science classes at Victoria College. He has had a lengthy experience of primary school teaching. It is understood that Mrs Low is an M.A., and is a lady of distinction in her sphere.
