GRAIN AND PRODUCE MARKETS.

(Christchurch Press, Saturday.) A few odd lines of wheat continue to be purchased, mostly at 3s 5d at country stations, but the offerings are scarce. There is rather better demand for oats, sa few sales having lately been made to Australia. For that market, however, Gartons only are required. There is very little local business doing, and on account of the shortage in offerings prices are rather firmer. There is very little demand for chaff and growers atre declining to sell at under 50s on trucks. Potatoes are selling at £8 at country stations, and stocks are now very short. Supplies of dairy produce are good', and farmers' made butter, both separator, and hand, is easier. Supplies of eggs are more plentiful, arid there is no change in prices. Local prices are recorded as under: Cheese—Factory 6Jd, dairy 6d, loaf Butter—Factory Is to Is Id, farmers' separator 10d, dairy 9d. Bacon.—Sides 9Jd, rolls lOd, hams lOd. Honey—Extracted 3fd per lb.
