WOOL, SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW SALE.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and Reduced, report:—Friday's sale was very well attended by buyers, and good catalogues were submitted. Hides were keenly competed for. Sheepskins of good quality sold well at' about last sale's rates, but damaged-) skins were slightly easier. Only bag lots of wool were offered. The wool sale- fixed for Tuesday, sth instant, will probably be cancelled on account of the small amount of wool available. The broken weather has retarded shearing operations. We quote:— Wool in bags:—Crossbred fleece 7£d to 9d per lb, pieces and locks 3£d to 3j|d. Sheepskins: Merino 6d to 7£d, crossbred fine B£d to B|d, crossbred medium 8d to 8-2-d, crossbred coarse 7£d to Bd, crossbred short 5d to 6£d, crossbred dead 4d to Bid, crossbred green 6s 6d to 9s each, crossbred pelts Is to Is 9d each, crossbred lambs 9d to Is each.

Hides: Ox heavy 7£d to 8d per lb, ox medium 7^d to 7|d, ox light 7d to 7id, cow 7d to 7|d, calf best lid to 13|d, calf medium B£d to 9£d 3 calf damaged 6d to BJd. Tallow: In casks 275. 6d to 28s 3d per cwt. Fat in tins 18s to 26s per cwt.
