Sir,—The circular (attached) is being sent to all the boot and shoe retailers in the Dominion. The New Zealand Boot Manufacturers' Association has been gradually increasing the prices of boots and shoes for the last ten years, and since the present heavy duty came into force, between four and five years ago, prices have gone up -considerably. The question is, should an industry like this be Bolstered up with a heavy tariff at the expense of tlie boot buying public? SHOE RETAILER.
