IN OTHER PLACES

The present storm has affected practically the whole of the-Dominion, for at every station, according to tho weather, report telegraphed at 0 o'clock this morning, there has been rough weather. Heavy rain fell during the night, and was continuing this morning at Kaipara, Auckland, Wanganui, Napier, New Plymouth Christchurch, and Wellington, whero the rainfall since yesterday morning had been 1.05 inches. Where rain is not falling sikes are overcast, and there is every indication of more rain. Very heavy seas were running at Russell, Kaipara, Manukau, East Cape, Cape Palliser, Farewell Spit, Cape Campbell, Timaru, Nuggets, and Bluff. There is a considerable fresh in the Grey River, but the Bealey is law. Heavy falls of snow are reported in the high country surrounding WesTport and Queenstown. High tides were running at Russell, East Oape, and Cape Palliser, and elsewhere they were moderate to good. On account of the southerly weather1 there was an all-round drop in the thermometer readings, which ranged from 62 at Gisborne, where a westerly rain was falling, to 38 a.t Bealey, while tho local reading was 54. Owing to the telegraph lines from Cape Maria van Diemen being interrupted, no communication was received from that station. A southery wind was blowing everywhere except at Blenheim, Auckland, and East Cape, -where westerlies were prevailing.

[press association.] OAMARU, Sept. 19. After the heavy rain the weather in North Otago is bitterly cold. This morning sleet and slight snow showers had fallen on the lower levels.
