(Evening Post, Saturday.) Fruit and vegetable buyers and auctioneers have had a busy time this week. Sydney fruit arrived in bad condition on Wednesday, and was sold next day. Mandarins went from 7s ' to 10s for choice, inferior Is 9d to ss, j oranges realised 5s to Bs, lemonsi 3s to 5s pineapples 9§ to 12s, passion fruit { 10s to 13s per half-case. j

Bananas from Rarotonga arrived ex Aorangi, and were sold yesterday at from 5s 6d to 6s per case. Oranges by the same steamer sold at 8s to 15s, according to condition, the bulk being in bad order. Californian apples, the first shipment of the season, sold at 17s per case for dessert sorts. With the advent of rhubarb, Hobart apples are a little lower in values. Stunners sold to-day at 9s to lls, French crabs 9s to 10s 6d, stone pippins 9s to lls. No local apples were forward this week.
