LONDON, March 9. The education expenditure for the year is estimated at £19,141,000, an nicrease of £468,000 on last year's figures.

There are forty pages of amendments to the Revenue Bill.

Mr Lewis Haroourt, in the House of Commons, said that South African ministers had informed Lord Gladstone that there had been no recrudescence of offences against white women, since the commutation of the death sentence at Umtali.
