THE BRITISH PICTURES.
The bill to be provided by the Picture Company at the Town Hall this week is; a very strong one, and Wednesday evening should see a good house, when the change of ' programme is given. The star picture of the series will be the famous "Dance of Fire." This is taken from Rider Haggard's great romance "She." It will be remembered that Ayesha, in, order to obtain perpetual life arid youth, bathes, in the pillar of fire, and the effect given in the dance is; wonderfully weird and startling. It is a,beautiful picture, and should not be missed. "The House of Cards" is a story, unfortunately' only too common, of a young man who is ruined by his propensity for the "devil's pasteboards," arid a great temptation qo.mes to him, His sweetheart, however^ comes to the rescue, and saves him from the crowning dishonor. "Experiments with Liquid Air"^ is" an' instructive picture, and interesting at the same time. ... "The Short-sighted Sport" is of,the broadly farcical kind, and is described as a "howling shrieker." There are others, comic,; pathetic, scenic, and dramatic. The company appeared at Renwick last night, and were greeted by a full house, and "The King's Funeral" will be shownat Seddbn to-night.
