At the instance of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, John Burneas was fined £4 for leaving a .heifer, by the roadside to starve from Monday to Friday. The animal, when found, was unable .to walk; its tongue was hanging out, and it. was practically alive with maggots. - • '
