DR BARNARDO'S HOMES.
Our advertising columns announce the visit to Blenheim on Sunday and Monday, May 23 and 24, .of the Rev. W. JY Mayers, from Dx. Barnarqo's Homes, London. Mr i^ayers nas been closely associated with Dr. Barnardo and his work for twenty years, and he will give very interesting accounts of this wonderful child-rescue enterprise, showing unique :and impressive photo-pictures ©i the Homes I land some df their 8000 childi\sn. Mr 1 Mayers visited New Zealand in 1892, and had a very successful tour of meetings. He has brought with him ten of the boys from the Homes, who have been -musically trained, with their in-structor;'-OVIrH. Aaron. They will render a most attractive programme of: selections on the handbells, mandolines, 'cornet, 'bagpipes, and other instruments. This programme is announced as one yard long, and every inch Is instructive and most entertaining. ; Very large audiences have assembled in "Westez-n Australia, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania to hear Mr Mayers.; and the boys, and substantial results have followed. The chjef object of the Deputation Secretary is to raise funds to build a hospital in Dr. Barnardo's Girls' Village Home as the Australian tribute to that good man's- memory. Tne subject of the lecture, "Tragedies of Child Life," the music by the boys, and the object of the visit ought to ensure crowded audiences.
