THE OHINEMURI APPEAL.

ACTION SUGGESTED

[press association.]

AUCKLAND, May 19. A deputation of fifty of the leading citizens, including a number of clergy and ladies, waited upon the AttorneyGeneral and urged that the Government should not allow the matter_ of the bribery allegations in connection with the election of a licensing committee in Ohinemuri' some years ago to drop upon the. decision of the Court of Appeal. Dr. Findlay, speaking as Minister for Justice, said he had done all l.c could in the matter. The deputation could adopt one of two courses: They could place the facts before the police, who would take action if a prima facie case was made out, c r they could take action themselves. If the police were in doubt they would probably refer the question to the Crown Solicitor.
