LABOUR DISILLUSIONMENT.
STRIKES THAT FAILED
"THE SONG OF THE DYING . SWAN."
[press association.] PAKiS, May 18.
Disillusionment has been caused in labor circles by the failure of every strike patronised by the General Confederation of Labor, which for months past has bluffingly professed to be able to paralyse society and "Government. In explaining the cause of the •collapse of the postal strike in Paris, M,. Niel, secretary of the confederation, in .addressing'the-Miners' f Conegress ;at Lens,- sorrowfully admitted that the organisation merely 'existed •on paper. He urged the workers to make at a reality. His speech is interpreted as the ■"swan song" of the present revdluiaonary agitation.. Forty-six more postal strikers hay* heen 'dismissed.
