CANVASTOWN.
( [from ouk correspondent.] ; Monday. The shooting on Saturday at Canvastown resulted in John Bown getting a leg-in. The annual meeting of the Canvastown football club was held. at the Pelorus Hotel on Saturday. There was a fair .attendance,, and a good number of : members were enrolled. I understand- play will start at once, and it is anticipated that a good team will be the result of steady practice. The bazaar here on Saturday night was fairly well attended, and the financial results were something like £23. Everybody seemed to go home well satisfied with the result. --
