TIMARU, May 17. Emil Bockaert was charged to-day with driving a motor-car in a manner dangerous to the public, and with, driving over a street intersection at an excessive speed. The defendant turned to the wrong side of the road and collided with a cyclist, who was seriously injured. The latter charge was dismissed, and a fine of £6 and costs inflicted in the former, the penalty being fixed &t this amount in order to give the light of appeal. ; Proceedings for damages are pending.-' - V' >:■';.: ■ ■'■: '•' ' ■
