A DEAD BABY.

BODY FOUND IN AN OUTHOUSE.

NAPIER, May 15. An inquest opened yesterday concerning an infant whose body was discovered in an outhouse at Port Ahuriri. The evidence showed that JUily Brown, living with her parents at the Port, entered the house in a state of oollapse, the indications pointing to her having given birth to a child. A search was made ana the body found, life being extinct. The medical evidence went to show that the child had breathed, though imperfectly, and had it been born under proper conditions' would probably have lived. The inquiry was adjourned tor three weeks to enable Lily Brown to attend. ___________
