[FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT.] ~v ;' Friday. The Av/atere, Jlockiey Club's social held last week was a great success in every way in spite of the>,^et I weather. The music, kindly supplied ! by Miss McCabe, was of the best; !;: tne 800 r was perfection; !and the j supper, managed by th&4a<3ies, and i consisting of donations by!; sympathising friends,.) has not- been .surpassed: in Seddon. Songs were given by IVTiss • Kathleen Daly, whom it was a treat to listenito; by Mr Meale, who was (very successful in his sentimental items; by Mr P. Daly, whose voice has greatly improved; and by an old i favourite, Mr H. Masters. Extras j were played by several of the ladies, and assistance was rendered the piano by Mr Daly on the violin and flute alternately r and by Miss Ida Gunn on the violin. Mr Yardley made an efficient M.C. The young club is to be congratulated on the success of its first social, which realised a net profit of nearly £7. . The weather has been ivery7 wet ana stormy j and at the present time (Friday, 9 p.m;) it is raining hard.
