A deputation which included Bishops Julius and Grimes waited on the Prime Minister yesterday regarding the necessity for further legislation to prevent the dissemination of immoral and obscene literature. Sir Joseph Ward said that the Government recognised the importance of the matter, but the difficulty was to establish machinery which would not be considered an interference^ with the liberty of the press. The difficulty of censorship was so great that he would not go into it at all. Representations had been received from other parts, and all would receive careful consideration.
