The Archbishop of Canterbury, speaking at the festival of the sons of the clergy, stated that if the Budget ■became law £50,000 annually would 'be lost to the ecclesiastical com<missioHers' funds for the benefit of the poorer clergy. . The Lord Mayor of Dublin presided over a meeting of various public -of Ireland. Resolutions were carried protesting against the Budget, akd appealing to the" "All for Ireland" committee to coiribat the proposed taxation.
