A DISORDERLY MEETING.

MR McNAB ON COMPULSORY

TRAINING

SOCIALISTS CAUSE AN UPROAR

[PEESS ASSOCIATION.]

WELLINGTON, May 14. A public meeting was held last night, promoted by the National Defence League, to hear a lecture by Mr R. McNab on compulsory training. Socialists and Labourites mustered strongly, and succeeded in turning the meeting into disorder, though they were in a minority. Mr McNab got only a partial^ hearing, and the other speakers were howled down. Their opponents tried to speak, but in turn were decisively swamped, and ultimately the lights were turned out.
