The South African Convention '•reached an unanimous agreement, and -the Constitution has been signed.
The matter of proportional representation was dropped, except in connection ■ with election to the Senate rand executive committees of Provincial' Councils. The, change means a 'heavy'loss of seats in "Parliament to •Cape Colony Progressives and Orangia •'Constitutionalists.
The salaries of members of Parliament were raised to £400.
:The Natal delegates secured the preservation of the Royal assen to Bills i affecting Provincial Councils.
