DEPUTATION TO MR N6ATA.

[PBESS ASSOCIATION.]

CHRISTCHURCH, May 11. A deputation of natives waited on the Hon. Mr Ngata to-day, and discussqd the restriction against the alienation of native lands, urging its removal. There was a difference of opinion, some speakers strongly opposing the proposal.
