TRAINING NOTES

Daisy Paul, Irish Rifle, Tumut, Osiais, Aberration, Leahora and Sandix arrive:! by the train from Picton last aiight, and were quartered at the Club Stables.

There was a good attendance of touts on. the tracks this morning.

Bert Keeper's team was firet to put in a.n appearance. Gold Bird and Glen were associated with Gillett's Recollection over a six-furlong gallop on the outside of the course proper. The chestnut mare was the first to begin, but rounding the turn Gold Bird headed her, and entered the straight in the van of Recollection and Glen. A good go saw the three finish together.. Time, Imin 21sec. Leirida (Smith) was given, a fly over the schooling hurdles, the brown mare jumping beautifully. _ She was then given a run over a mile on the plough, her performance being a most attractive one.

Mataari and Leahora did. slow but useful work. The latter sprinted down the straight, and appeared to be eager for the fray. Irish Rifle was restricted to halfpace work, as were Daisy Paul and Belario, the other members of Mr Jas. Bull's team.

Toa Tuhi had an easy task set him

Burton. ca<ntered a. round ooi the plough, and was then given trotting exercise.

Sandix, Quarry Girl and The Mohican ran five furlongs on the plough, the black daughter of The Officer and Queen of Hearts mare finishing in front of Sandix, who was a long way in front of The Mohican, -the time registered being Imin, 7sec from a flying start. Tainini, Ben Lv and Para were hopped off at the half-mile post. Ben Lv assumed command .shortly after the start, but when the straight was reached Tainini, who was in, the rear, came through, Ben Lv finishing a* neck in front of her and half a length "in the van of Para. Time, 54sec.

Lawaa Rose (Miller) and Curator (R. Tapp) trotted to the six -furlong post on 'the plough, and hoppedl off, the big son of Cur© finishing in front, the distance being covered in lmin 20sec. Aberration, Osiris and Tumufc were given only light wosrk.

The Cup and Flying candidates that so far have put in am appearance are looking well, and isonie good racing should be witnessed on Wednesday and Thursday next.

The Mohican, pulled up lame after his gallop this moirning.
