It was stated that over twenty clubs recently formed could not be supplied with rifles, stocks of which were completely exhausted. MAORILAND'S DRINK BILL. SYDNEY, March 4. The Daily Telegraphy commenting on the New Zealand drink bill, says that doubtless the figures would have been bigger still had there been no temperance wave; but it was to have been expected that the reform agitation would have brought them below what they actually are.
