A LAND BOARD INCIDENT.
[press association.] NAPIER, Sept. 11. An opinion from the SolicitorGeneral on the ruling of the Commissioner of Crown Lands (Mr Trent) at the last meeting of the Land Board, which led to the removal of Mr Lane, came before the meeting of the Board to-da3'. The opinion upheld the Commissioner's ruling, but declared the incident closed. Mr Lane strongly protested at what he termed Ministerial interference, and withdrew from the meeting to emphasis© his protest.
