COLLISION WITH THE POLICE

A meeting of Glasgow unemployed was hold at midnight last night in/ George Square, at which, inflammatory speeches were made.
The police dispersed the gathering, bat three thousand rejoined and started to march to the Lord Pro-
vost's house.
Whon a quarter of a mile from iheir destination mounted police suddenly charged them, and scattered The mob in all directions. Batons were freely used, and many heads broken. ■
