AWATERE (23) v. MOUTERE (0).

Awatere easily disposed of Moutere at Seddon by seven tries (only pne. of which was converted) to/ nothing. Within five minutes of starting Philpott scored, and during the first.spell Hollyoake also crossed thfe Moutere line Schwass adding the major points. In the second half tries were obtained by Jack O'Dwyer, O'Donoghue (2), Campbell and Sweetman., but in each case the angle was too difficult for the place-kicker. Moutere were awarded a large number of freekicks but none of their shots at goal were successful. Prominent among the Awatere backs were Philpott, YV. Julian and Saunders, while of the forward O'Donoghue, A. Butt, Parker and Sweetman were the best. Thompson (back) and Kennedy (forward) played the best games for Moutere. Mr F. W. Dodson was referee. ;
