AUCKLAND, May 15

John Hall, a youth of sixteen years, who started on a careef of crime four ye^ars ago, and has a record of housebreaking, theft, damaging property and escaping from the Burnham Industrial School, appeared before the Court to-day j charged with breaking and entering and theft at Remuera. He admitted his offence and bad record.

When Mr Dyer, S.M., sentenced him to three months' goal, Hall asked if he would be sent to Burriham at the end of his term; if so, he would rather have a longer sentence. The Magistrate said that Hall seemed to be absolutely hopeless, but he would not give him any more at present. . \
