MARLBOROUGH RUGBY UNION

The annual meeting of the Marlborough Rugby Union was held last night at the Club Hotel. There were present: Messrs J. T. Mowat (in the cVrtir). Graham Griffiths, Geo. Grifflths, O'Dwyer (3), J. March, Waters, J. H. Morrison, and Dr. Bennett. .

The balance-sheet, brought forward from the old Union, showed a healthy state cf finance, the ''gates" from club matches being very good as compared with those of previous years. — The balance-sheet was adopted. An ;ipplication from C. Manning for a transfer from the Central to the Awatere Club was held over, pending the revision of the rules. Officers were elected "■> as follows :-— President, Mr J. J. Corry; VicePresidents and delegates (already published); resident, delegate to the New Zealand Union at Wellington, Mr J. P.* Firth; Vice-president, of New Zealand Union, also delegate to annual meeting to-morow night in Wellington, Mr A. R. Thomson. Secretary, p. McCallum;' Treasurer, Graham Griffiths. .

Mr R. Wanden was voted £10 for his services as secretary last year. Several applications were received for the removal of disqualifications.— A committee was set lip to consider the question. ;

The usual Ground and Postponement Committees were1 elected, also a Committee to revise the rules.

The Opawa Club was granted permission to play a .match against the Oriental Club on Easter Monday on the Domain. :''-,,;■_
