CHRISTCHURCH, March 2. S. R. Merrett, who was injured in a motor-car accident on Saturday week,;died in the hospital at 5 o'clock yesterday morning. ''After hearing the evidence of Dr Crooke, house surgeon at the hospital, as to the condition of Merrett when admitted, "the inquest was adjourned until March sth, in order to allow, of further inquiries "being made as to the exact cause of the accident.
