FIRE AT TIMARA.

STARTED BY A TRACTION

ENGINE,

A fire which might have led to very serious results was started yesterday, at Timara, Mr R. F. Coulter's run. The fire was started in a barley paddock by a traction engine between two lots of* barley, and then got on to the Timara run. A number of mea came to help, about 42 in all, and by. their united efforts the fire was eventually beaten down. But for this timely help there is no knowing where the fire may have led to, as it was heading straight for the Timara oat stacks. A mob of sheep in a paddock had a narrow escape, the fire going their way, and the workers had to break down a netting fence and gpk them into another paddock to save them.

Mr Goulter wishes to express his thanks to those who so kindly rendered their assistance in putting out ibs flames, and also to the ladies who provided refreshments for the workers.
