WORKSHOPS AND GUNBOATS
BURNED
THE MURDER AT LODZ

ST. PETERSBURG, Sept, 24
The workshops at Strentensk, with seven river gunboats which had been sent thither in sections, have been burnt. The officials suspect incendiarism, in order to destroy traces of peculations.
Seven workmen and a girl at Lodz have bee-n shot without trial in connection with the murder of Silberstein, the owner of a factory. Every third man of the 800 who were arrested has been exiled to Siberia for not preventing the murder.
DEATH^SENTENCES COMMUTED
(Received Sept. :24, 11.7 p.m.) ST. PETERSBURG, Sept. 24. The death-sentences of thirteen out of twenty-two terrorists at Riga have been commuted to penal servitude for life.
