Mr Bishell's motion that Shropshires and Romneys be judged by one man was carried, whereupon Mr Bell pro, tested that such a decision would tend to discourage either the Shropshire or the Romney breeders. He urged that separate judges should be appointed for distinct breeds, even if the expense should be much greater. It was nothing but short-sightedness to do as they were doing. A motion to reject the resolution just passed was ruled out of order, and suggestion after suggestion was tendered with the view of getting out of the mesh of the procedure, and altering the decision come to. Eventually the appointment of a judge was deferred, and Mr Storey gave notice to move at the next meeting that all the resolutions relating to longwools be rescinded. The members of the Pollard Jiwenile Opera Company arrived in Picton by the Rotoiti from Wellington yesterday afternoon, and came up to Blenheim per special train last night.
