The Garrison Band gave pleasure to a good number of people who had gathered at the Wairau Hospital yesterday afternoon. The patients, for •whose benefit, of course, the music was primarily intended, expressed the keenest appreciation of the Band's thought fulness. Bandsman W. McDonald, who is ,an inmate of the Hospital, is progressing satisfactorily. The question of appointing local judges to co-operate with the.professional judges in the horse classes at j the forthcoming Show, the principle tof which was confirmed some weeks ago, exercised the A. and P. Committee to a great extent on Saturday Jast. Several nominees were rejected because they were not members of the Association, -others on the score of age. Eventually Mr Bell moved that -the age limit be 25 years. This was rejected in favour of a motion by the President making the limit thirty years. It was then decided that members' sons be eligible, and finally the whole matter of appointing local judges was held over.
