THE SOUTH AFRICANS' PROFITS

MARYLEBONE TEAM FAREWELLED. [press association.] (Received Sept. 22, 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 21. The South African cricket tour resulted in a profit-of £1400. On board the Ophir Mr C. E. Green proposed the health of the team leaving for Australia, which if not so representative as they could have wished, was yet a good one. He was sure that every man would uphold the honour of Marylebone and of England. Mr A. 0. Jones, the captain, in replying, alluded to the difficulties experienced in selecting the team. He regretted that several '' old hands" had "cried off," but this would give the young players a splendid chance, such as they never had before.
