KENNEL CLUB.

The Marlborough Kennel Club held their usual meeting on Thursday night, which was largely attended. Mr J. Horrax, the judge, who visited the meeting, considered the question of amateur judging a step in the right direction, from whioh a young fancier would gain a deal of knowledge. He was quite prepared, in cases where the amateur and he as judge differed, that the dogs in question should be re-judged in front of the public, and was prepared and pleased to impart his knowledge of over twenty years' standing in the fancy to any novice, or those who considered they were duly qualified to judge certain classes. Mr J. K. Vail nioved thai as Thursday night was fixed for the Kennel Club meetings,- in future the issue of circulars be discontinued. Members who took an interest in the Club's affairs should attend without being reminded each week. A discussion followed, no result being ar-< rived at.

A resolution was passed instructing the Secretary to write the Borough Council for permission to erect poles in Charles Street from the Bank of New South Wales corner to the Drill Shed, for the purpose of flying bunting on the day of this Show. Various other matters'of detail were dealt with. , ,

The Special Prize Committee presented their report, which was-most satisfactory. The schedule is now all complete, and in the hands of the Printing Committee.

Many Wellington fanciers have promised to send their champions over, to the local Show.
