Dalgety and C0.,-Ltd., Wellington, lave received the following cable messages from London, dated Bth inst.: — Frozen Meat: The demand for lamb, principally for heavy weights. "There is better demand for mutton, finest qualities. Beef, market firm. We quote: N.Z. prime crossbred lamb, Canterbury, heavy weights s|d, light Sid; North Island lamb, heavy sJkl, liglit sd. N.Z. crossbred mutton, North Island, heavy 3|d, light 4d. Canterbury mutton, light weights 4fd, heavy 3£d. N.Z. prime ox beef, fores 3|d, hinds 3|d. There is poor demand for pork at 5d per lb. Butter: The Copenhagen official is unchanged. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending the Ist instant amounted to 75,000 cwt, as •compared with 79,000 cwt. for the corresponding week of 1906. Tallow: Mutton tallow in general at par to 3d higher. Other descriptions, 3d to 6d higher. Rabbitskins: Of quantities offered for sale are about 1200 greasy, on which expect a decline in prices of 20 to 25 per cent, perhaps more. Description mentioned almost unsaleable ■at present. Do not expect any important change in prices for really goodconditioned skins. Hides, Leather and Basils: Market .-^unchanged. Wellington, 7th June.
