Mr Wilson, a member 'of the Nelson Packing Company, informed the Agricultural Committee of Congress that his firm's foreign exportations were reduced by half. Many orders were entirely cancelled, and he predicted a terrible panic in the west and the ruin of .many farmers and breeders if the packers,. foreign trade were ruined, as it seemed likely that it would be.
