AN ASHBURTON RESOLUTION.

ASHBURTON, Nov. 25. At a public meeting last night it was resolved: " That this meeting declares as follows:—The No-license vote took effect in the Ashburton electorate on July 1, 1903, but liquor selling in the Ashburton club continued the law and rule tili July 1, 1905. The Ashburton electorate therefore had two years' partial local prohibition of the beverage sale of liquor and six months' complete local prohibition of such sale. The experience has been so satisfactory as to abundantly warrant the Ashburton electors voting at the forthcoming .poll against the restoration of licences and the electors of the colony generally in voting No-license, and confidently commends to them the adoption of Huh policy."
