JAPANESE NAVAL SUCCESS.

INFANTRY CAPTURES.

Received July 28, 11.34 p.m. London, July 28.

A Japanese naval detachment on the 24bhinst>. captured Alkewa, sfser dislodging a battalion of infantry, 100 volunteers, and eight field guns from Laokaff Hill.

A detachment of Japanese infantry captured Mugatai, securing 40,000 tons of cosl and some light railway material.

The Russians stubbornly defended the redoubts east of Alexandrovsk, bat the town was ultimately captured intact with 200 prisoners.
