Admiral Eaquist, who reached Manila with three Russian cruisers, stated in the course of an interview that after his flag was transferred from the Oleg to the Aurora he was unable to see the main Russian fleet, and be* lieving it to have been defeated or dlt* persed, he retired in the interests of humanity.
