Copyright. Wellington, July 14* The Trotting Conference passed a new rule calling upon the Association to hold special meetings to consider appeals within seven days after the receipt of evidence.

An amendment to rule 20, making it compulsory that the deposit fee of £10 be forfeited when appeals are dismissed, was agreed to.

Rule 29 was altered to provide for two pony flat races being included in the programme of a Trotting Club. 16 was decided that the New Zealand Trotting Association be empowered to enter into reciprocal relation with the Common weaith and America respecting the registration of disqualifications and licenses.

The proposed new rule giving the Association power to appoint stipendiary stewards was withdrawn. A suggestion to have the dates of meetings of affiliated clubs decided at the annual conference was lost. Ifc was decided that the registration fee be increased from 2s (3d to ss. The Chairman was given the right to refuse registration to any horse bearing a name previously entered in the Stud Book or Turf Register. Totalisator permits for next year will be fixed to-morrow,
