OBITUARY.
DEATH OF MR HENLEY.
"re*a Association. Electric Telegraph, Copyright. London, July 13. The death is announced of Mr W. E. Henley, aged fifty-four years. [The deceased gentleman—whose writings are widely known—had for many years been a strenuous worker in the field of letters. He published many books, ranging from poetry to critical essays and reviews. The Centenary of Burns, edited by Mr Henley and Mr T. F. Henderson, attracted considerable attention some time ago, and the Terminal Essay, by " W.E.H.," published separately, led to a vigorous controversy, the heat of which has not even yet died away. Mr Henley was a constant contributor to the magazine and periodical literature of his day.]
