With reference to the cabled state' ment from l'ltalia abont Cardinal Moran, it Is authoritatively stated here that the holding of a Conclave does not depend upon the demands of any individual Cardinal. The Pope's successor must be elected ten days after his death, unless the College of Cardinals for some grave reason should undertake to postpone the election.
