Hendry stated that the placards contained, highly offensive allegations regarding the Roman Catholic Church. Defendant stated that he had for years exhibited in his window papers he considered beneficial to the public, against drink or anything he thought detrimental. He had said nothing against any special Church, nor had he special animus against any denomination. Rimmer was bound over to keep the peace for six months in his own recognisance of £50.
