COLORED LABOR ON MAIL STEAMERS.
MR CHAMBERLAIN'S ATTITUDE
ENDORSED.

London, June 17.
The Standard, commenting on the text of Mr Chamberlain's despatch of 17th April dealing with the employment of white labor on mail steamers, says:— " After the defeat of the railway strike, Victoria's prospect of disorganised mail services should rouse Australians to make an effort against class tyranny. Britain's duty clearly is to prevent injustice to one class of her subjects at another's dictation."
Several newspapers endorse Mr Chamberlain's attitude in regard to the employment of Lascars on mail steamers.
