With regard to the Maoris brought to Sydney as members of a circus troupe, the decision was by the Collector of Customs and nob by the Department of International Affairs.
If the Maoris bad com© with the intention of residing in Australia Mr Barton says he should have to consider whether they could be admitted. He had not yet had, however, to deal with any application from Maoris.
