The feature of the election was the alliance between the Civil Servants and the Labor Party. The alliance waged » most determined fight to stave off the threatened retrenchment, and the re; salt was seen ia the defeat of several Ministerial candidates for metropolitan constituencies. The ceuntry was almost unanimously for the Government.
The Hon. H. R. Williams, ex-Minister for Hallways, was defeated.
