In the case for £1500 damages tfie plaintiff's (Earle) case was concluded. Mr Hannan, for the defence, raised the nonsuit point that the Minister of Railways, and not the King, should be sued. His Honor reserved judgment.

In opening his case, counsel for defence set up the theory that the accident was caused through the negligence and carelessness of plaintiff. Crown witnesses are now being examined. The case is expected to conclude to-day. Wanganui, October 1.

The Supreme Court concluded yesterday afternoon, when the jury awarded petitioner £300 damages in the divorce action Edmund Newland v. Newland and Kane. A decree nisi was also granted. The parties were married 17 years ago, and lived happily until 1901, when respondent and Kane, who were neijjhborH at Hunterville, left for Christchurch, where they are now living. Respondent had some money left her two years ago.
