A fire occurred late last night in the house occupied by Richard Dale, baker. Fonr children who were alone in the place bad a narrow escape. The eldest, a girl of eleven, was awakened by the baby crying* and gave the alarm. Constable Ryan got into the building and rescued three of the children, while the fourth, an infant, was got out by another person. Had the alarm been delayed five minutes there would have been a tragedy to report.
